Detectives are appealing for information after a group of men smashed the door on a South Normanton house and threatened the occupants.

At around midday on Saturday, June 22, four men knocked on the door of a house on Peel Street and demanded money. When the 28-year-old occupant refused to open the door, the men kicked through a door panel and threatened him with what appeared to be a handgun.

A man and woman have been arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail pending further inquiries.

Witnesses are asked to call 101.
