Heanor Operatic Society is to celebrate its 40th anniversary with a concert in the town.
On Saturday, July 14, 15 members of the society’s Concert Party will entertain the Wilmot Street Centre with songs from its shows over the years – including the musical All Shook Up, based on the music of Elvis Presley.
Chairman Janet Newton said: “After performing the enjoyable and successful musicals this year our Ruby Jubilee Concert should be a great way to revisit some of the wonderful songs from the shows.”
The society was formed in 1972 and went on tour with concert versions of Gilbert and Sulivan musicals.
Tickets are £4 on the door and the event starts at7.30pm.
