TWO sisters, aged 11 and eight, have raised £200 for Marie Curie Cancer Care after staging a cake sale at their school.
Abbie and Courtney Weston have been raising cash for the charity with schemes, including raffles and sponsored swims.
Proud mum Lynne said: “They are up to £900 so far and we’re hoping that a Brownie Bingo on Tuesday will tip us over the £1,000 mark.
“They thought it was a worthwhile cause because it caters for families as well as people with a terminal illness. And unfortunately lots of people are affected by it.
“Everybody has been very generous with donations or donating prizes.”
In April, the big-hearted duo will take the plunge in a sponsored swimathon for the charity.
Abbie, 11, will swim 2.5 kms and Courtney, eight, is swimming 45 lengths.
The pair held the cake sale at Swanwick Primary School, where they both attend, selling cakes to pupils and staff.
