Codnor Castle Heritage Trust have had new signs installed to mark the way to the historic landmark.

Codnor Castle is now a little easier to find - after a set of signs were installed.

Directions to the ancient landmark have now been placed on Alfreton Road and Goose Lane in the village.

Codnor Castle Preservation Trust applied to Derbyshire County Council for the helpful signs, and two more will soon be installed at Ironville.

Chairman of the trust Rokia Brown said: “We wanted to promote the castles as being of historic interest and because it’s an ancient monument and for years there has been nothing around Codnor and Ironville to say there’s a medieval castle nearby!

“The castle was built in 1150 and finally in 2013 the signs have gone up!”
