TV presenter and radio DJ Sally Pepper officially opened the new community woodland at Lons Infant School.

Sally was joined by a host of dignitaries including Amber Valley mayor Cllr Angela Ward and Ripley mayor Cllr Alwyn Bridge on Monday, July 15, and school children took part in activities making dream catchers and mobiles to decorate the woodland. School governor Stuart Joynes said: “A fantastic time was had by all after two years of hard work by staff and governors transforming the once overgrown dumping ground with support from Derbyshire County Council, Amber Valley Borough Council, Futures Homescape, Ripley Co-op , Ripley Sainsbury’s , the probation service, the Woodland trust and the Big lottery fund.
