EARLIER in summer we featured a picture in our Memory Lane page, showing a group of cheeky looking pupils from Fleet Boys School in the late 1940s.
The original photo was sent in by the boys’ class teacher Frederick Snowdon, from Gloucester, who is now 90.
Amazingly here are a few of them today. After spotting the shot in the Belper News, retired businessman, Leonard Parkin, pictured in the orange shirt, decided to look up some of his pals for a reunion.
Mr Parkin, 75, from Bargate Road, Belper, remembered his teacher, seen here wearing a red tie, as a ‘real gentleman’.
He said: “After I saw the photo sent in by Mr Snowdon, I thought it would be a good idea to get everyone back together.”
Mr Snowdon served as an artilleryman in World War Two before teaching at the school.
