Alfreton Park Community Special School has been awarded the Lucy Prince community grant award by car manufacturers Toyota.

Each year £5,000 is awarded by the Toyota Manufacturing UK Charitable Trust to support a Derbyshire based charity, whose aim is to help improve family life.

The special school is to spend the money on providing day-trips for its pupils.

Sharon Wright, Family Liaison Officer, Alfreton Park Community Special School said: “We are very pleased and honoured to receive The Lucy Prince Community Grant Award from Toyota. This will enable us to provide valuable social enrichment for our pupils and their families.”

The community school is for children aged between two and 19 years-of-age with severe learning difficulties or profound and multiple learning difficulties.
