School could see revamp

A MAJOR £150,000 plan to revamp Riddings Junior School has been submitted to Amber Valley Borough Council.

If successful the school will get a new ball court, play area and perimeter fencing built along with a new car park and better vehicle access.

Headteacher Helen Littlewood said: “We’re hoping the improvements would help us develop an area that is currently overgrown into a high quality learning area.

“It’s estimated the work would cost about £150,000 and if it gets the green light funding would come from Derbyshire County Council’s capital programme and section 106 money agreed by a local developer.”
