A SOUTH Normanton songstress has been given the thumbs up by judges at the Open Mic UK auditions.

The 22-year-old from Broad Meadows in the village has made it through to the regional final of the national talent competition with a recording contract top prize.

And she will take to the stage in Sheffield on Sunday to see if she can make it through to the grand finale in London.

Singer-songwriter Ruby, said: “I have had so many good responses from people that are listening I just want people to enjoy listening to my music as much as I enjoy doing it.”

A panel of eight judges will decide Ruby’s fate this weekend.
