MOTORISTS have been warned to expect delays in Heanor today as resurfacing work is carried out on Loscoe Road.
Traffic lights were in operation this morning on the main route into the town as the work progressed.
Drivers have also been warned to expect delays in Codnor at the weekend. On Sunday, January 15, resurfacing work is due to take place near the traffic lights in Codnor, close to the junction for the A610.
On Sunday, January 22, the A608 near Church Street and Mansfield Road in Heanor is due to be closed from 6am to 4pm as the remainder of the 100-year-old beech tree, which was brought down in the storms, is removed.
The tree was felled in the gale-force winds on Wednesday, January 4. It blocked the entire road at the time, narrowly missing a passing police car. The bulk of the tree was removed then and the road reopened. Now workmen need to remove the stump and roots and repair the wall of the property were it fell at the home of Gordon and Winifred Faulks.
