The Ripley branch of the Royal British Legion will celebrate its first year in operation on Thursday, June 6 - and townsfolk are invited to come to a meeting on the night to see the work the charity does.
The event is to take place at 7.30pm at the Sir Barnes Wallis pub, Maple Avenue, Ripley.
Branch chairman Dean Fowler said all are welcome to attend. He said: “Come and hear our aims, what we are trying to achieve and how we may benefit your organisation and the local community together.
“We will be celebrating our first year anniversary after 11 years of not having a branch here.”
