The Norwegian Seafood Council has teamed up with local chippy, Seafish Restaurant, to give 99p portions of cod and chips to locals in Ripley to celebrate Norway Day on Saturday.

The Norwegian Seafood Council is working in partnership with 99 fryers across the UK to offer fish and chip fans the chance to hark back to the golden era of fish and chips and purchase a portion of their favourite takeaway for just 99p.

A total of 16 tonnes of cod has been gifted to the 99 shops, including Seafish as part of the initiative, allowing nearly 40,000 people nationwide to join this celebration of our favourite dish of cod and chips.

Nathan Wild from Seafish Restaurant comments, “We are so pleased to be taking part in this annual celebration. Fish and chips are a firm favourite in Ripley; I know that our customers will enjoy the delicious Norwegian cod and chips on offer - and they will certainly enjoy the prices too!”
