Respects paid to ‘well loved’ teacher

A school has paid tribute to a “well-loved and highly-respected” teacher who died suddenly.

Simon Redhead, who taught PE at Swanwick Hall School for 30 years, passed away on Wednesday.

Mr Redhead started his teaching career at the school, on Derby Road, in 1985.

In a statement, the school said: “Throughout his long career, Mr Redhead held a number of important roles within the school and made significant contributions to the education of many children.

“The thoughts of the whole school community are very much with Mr Redhead’s wife, Helen, and children, Laura and Jonathan,” the statement added.
