Hundreds of school children are expected to take part in a two minutes silence on Ripley Market Place today as part of a Remembrance Day service.

Pupils and representatives from the majority of the schools in the town are due to attend the event, organised by the Ripley branch of the Royal British Legion.

Afterwards the children are due to walk to All Saints Church, on Church Street, to view the wreaths and memorials from Sunday’s service and to pay their respects.
