Pupils from schools in Matlock and Bakewell will be involved in a three-day cycle relay event to mark 100 days before the Olympic Torch travels around the UK.
Highfields and Lady Manners School will meet the relay teams today, day two, as they travel around Derbyshire carrying Olympic torches.
The Peak District National Park Authority is supporting the initiative by allowing access to the Monsal and Tissington Trail
The authority’s chief executive, Jim Dixon, said: “The event aims to raise awareness of the Olympics to pupils in schools across Derbyshire.
“It is also a great opportunity to promote the fantastic off-road cycling routes these young people have on their doorstep.”
