A fresh-faced recruit has been given the inside scoop on working for a social landlord by its first-ever apprentice.

Ripley-based Futures Housing Group invited their newest apprentice Amelia Wayne, to meet their first apprentice Bryn Henton, to mark National Apprenticeship Week.

Amelia, from Ripley, started her business admin apprenticeship on March 20.

Amelia, 19, said: “I was looking for an alternative route and didn’t understand apprenticeships at first and I thought they were a boy-thing.

“I want progression and not something that’s just making tea and filing, this position seemed perfect for me as I want to work my way up.”

The pair met at the organisation’s apprentice reunion event, as part of National Apprenticeship Week.
