MIDLAND Railway - Butterley is to host Royals on the Rails to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee.
The centre is the home of three saloons formerly used by royalty - all of which are to be on display at the exhibition hall at the Swanwick junction of the heritage line from June 2 until June 5.
The event will feature the Royal Saloon built for King George V and a Royal Dining Saloon built for Queen Elizabeth II.
There is also due to be guided tours and a chance to view the Midland Railway Royal Saloon built in 1912, currently undergoing restoration.
Volunteer members of the Midland Railway Trust will also add to the atmosphere by dressing in period costume.
Event organiser Anne Deeth said: “After the success of last year’s smaller event celebrating the centenary of George V’s Coronation, we are confident that our visitors will have a thoroughly interesting and enjoyable day out over the extended Bank Holiday weekend.”
