Her Majesty the Queen can be seen in this photograph pondering over items manufactured in the Derbyshire Dales.
The picture was taken during Her Royal Highness’s visit to Lea Mills in May 1968.
It was captured in a souvenir booklet of the visit published by the Matlock Mercury which was found by Ernest Raynes.
The 63-year-old, of Matlock started work at the mill when he was 15 years old as a hosiery knitter and has been there ever since.
He said: “Two of us had just finished working a 6am until 2pm shift.
“We saw motorbikes coming up and she was in a car behind them.
“She had her hand up and she waved at both of us.”
