PUPILS at a Denby school have picked up a set of golf clubs for the day to raise money for a cancer research charity.
More than 180 students in Years 7 to 10 at John Flamsteed School took to the tee as part of the Breast Cancer Research £100 Challenge to raise money towards finding a cure.
A fun sponsored nine-hole ‘Texas Scramble’ was held on the school fields on June 28.
Head of PE Sue Linacre said: “Students played in teams of four throughout the day and had a great time.
“The response from students was brilliant and I am pleased to say we went £100 better and raised £200.”
