POLICE have increased patrols after reports of suspicious incidents involving a man who sexually assaulted a woman in Shipley Country Park.

There have been two reports of suspicious incidents involving a man following women, and in one case he touched the woman on the bottom.

The two women reported to police and park rangers in the last six weeks that they had been followed by a man.

The most recent incident took place on Monday, May 9, where the woman said she was touched on the bottom by a man who was riding a bicycle in the area.

PCSO Courtney Chetwyn of the Shipley, Smalley and Horsley Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We are aware of these incidents, which have understandably caused some alarm.”

Witnesses or anyone with information are urged to call Derbyshire Constabulary on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
