Police appeal for would-be burglars

Police are appealing for witnesses to an attempted burglary in Ray Street, Heanor.

The crime happened at about 3pm on Monday March 4 when an 85-year-old woman answered the door. She couldn’t see anyone, went back into the house and saw there was a man in the back yard.

He was described as white, with a grey pallor and grey hair, between 40 to 50 years-old and of a big build. He asked if the woman wanted her house power-washing and then left. Nothing was stolen.

Three men in their 40s were seen acting suspiciously on nearby Park Street. They had a five-door silver car. Call 101 if you have information.
