Prime Minister David Cameron was in Long Eaton this morning (Monday) to meet factory workers ahead of local elections next week.
He was given a tour of Duresta furniture factory in Fields Farm Road after taking part in a question and answer session with staff.
Speaking about the plan to bring a train station to Ilkeston, he said investment in rail in the UK was ‘really important’.
He also said that it was partly down to individual shoppers to ensure their struggling high streets, in town centres across Derbyshire, stay alive.
