Mayor of Amber Valley Cllr Angela Ward officially reopened the Danesby Rise Allotments in Denby after a three year renovation of the site.

Thanks to £1,426 grant from the Co-operative and £800 of funding from the allotment committee itself, the site now has a full water supply all the way round and new security gates, installed by Heanor firm Triple S Fabrications. Committee chairman Paul Hudson said: “In 2011 we celebrated our centenary and we decided it was time to make improvements.”
