EXCITED juniors give the thumbs up to a new state of the art play area in Kilburn.
The new equipment was unveiled at the Church Street recreation ground on Friday by Amber Valley Borough councillor Jack Brown, cabinet member for greener, cleaner, safer.
And the pupils of Kilburn Junior School played a major part in the playground design. A year ago they were consulted by local councillors on the sort of equipment they would like to see on the new park. The school voted on their favourites to be used in the end design, including zip wires and swing baskets.
School headteacher Nigel Pratley said: “The children worked extremely well together on this project and the outcome of the park is tremendous. It is such a well used resource in the community.”
