RESIDENTS in Waingroves have turned out to plant 1,200 daffodil bulbs and trim hedges in Waingroves Wood and along Millennium Walk there.

Twenty-five volunteers took part with bulbs donated by David Allsop, of Waingroves, with the Waingroves Woodland Trust saying it was extremely thankful. Trust chairman John Stamp said if the bulbs did as well as the ones planted in 2010 they would make a beautiful show next spring. The volunteers also trimmed 40 metres of hedge and brush down the side of Millennium Way, with the waste wood used to fuel a bonfire.
