OUR Diamond Jubilee fundraising campaign has reached the half way mark of £150 and we want to keep going by appealing to your generousity so we can mark the queen 60 years on the throne in style.
Generous readers have donated their pennies to our Jubilee Jam Jars Appeal which with the help of Amber Valley Borough Council, aims to raise enough cash to plant a new tree in each town, along with commemorative plaques, to mark the 60-year reign of Queen Elizabeth II.
Editor Julie Crouch said: “We simply have been bowled over by people’s generosity. A massive thank you to all our readers!
To donate your jam jars of cash you can drop them off at our office in Ripley at 27 Grosvenor Road.
We will do the rest and will print updates in the paper, online at www.ripleyandheanornews.co.uk, on Twitter @rhnews and on Facebook at Ripley News.
