Party’s tenth anniversary

An escaplogist’s exploding coffin is just one of the attractions on offer at this year’s Alfreton Party in The Park.

This is the Party’s tenth anniversary and to mark the occasion, organisers are promising some great attractions to celebrate it.

Co-organiser Paddy Buckley said: “It all kicks off with a procession of floats at 11am from Rodgers Lane and into the park where everything gets going.

“There will be an amateur boxing tent with between 50 and 60 contestants trying their luck and Amber Sound FM will provide the soundtrack.”

As usual a music arena will feature seven local bands and there will be an acoustic marquee, a fun fair and lots of stalls.

Archery and chainsaw sculpture is on offer, as well as a play area for childrens’ entertainment like Punch and Judy.

The event takes place on Sunday, September 2.
