Open up more sites says housing firm

A housing group based in Ripley is calling for improved availability to brownfield sites, echoing the findings of a report released this week by the National Housing Federation (NHF).

Futures Housing Group is backing the NHF’s report, Home Truths, which identifies an urgent housing shortage as the number of homeless households in the region reaches nearly 3,800 – a 24 per cent rise in the last two years.

Group chief executive at Futures, Lindsey Williams said: “As well as working hard with local councils and authorities, we will continue to support our partners at a regional and national level, to encourage the release of further brownfield sites.”
