New proposal for caravan and camping park

A PLAN has been submitted to open a touring caravan and camping park in Riddings.

The proposals could see an 11-acre patch of land at Bullock Lane opened as a holiday spot for up to 75 caravans.

Designs submitted to Amber Valley Borough Council include building an 8x13 metre amenity block housing showers and toilets. It is the second time landowners Mr and Mrs Whiting have applied for planning permission to convert the site.

Last summer an application to accommodate twice the amount of caravans on the site was turned down by the borough council.

It proposed to house permanent as well as touring caravans on the green belt land.

However, it was refused permission in November on the grounds that static caravans were inappropriate for a development on a green belt.

The application also saw 117 objections from nearby residents.
