A new directory full of useful information about social care services across Derbyshire is out now.
The Derbyshire Care Services Directory 2012/13 has been produced by Derbyshire County Council in partnership with Care Choices Limited.
The free directory details what type of care and services are available including a comprehensive list of care homes, guidance on paying for care and information about help and support for people who want to stay living independently in their own homes.
The directory will be available in various county locations including GPs surgeries, CAB offices, Age UK shops, libraries, council offices, solicitors, places of worship and other relevant outlets. To request a copy call 08456 058 058 or 01629 533190.
Care Choices Ltd also runs a free information service which can provide a shortlist of care homes to match people’s needs and preferences.
The helpline offers more detailed information about organisations providing care and answers specific questions including staffing levels at particular homes and whether residents can take pets. For the information service helpline people should ring 0800 3892077.
Derbyshire County Council Cabinet Member for Adult Care Councillor Charles Jones said: “The Derbyshire Care Services Directory is a comprehensive guide for people looking for care homes and social care services across the county. All the information people need is in one place in this easy-to-use guide.”
The Derbyshire Care Services Directory is also available in e-book format with a spoken word option via www.carechoices.co.uk/e_books/derbyshire.html
