Care homes group Ashmere Derbyshire, which runs homes in Codnor, Ripley and
Smalley, has launched a free advice service to support friends and family of people suffering with dementia.

The service ‘Dementia Derbyshire’ can be accessed via a new website –
DementiaDerbyshire.co.uk.

The site explains what support can be expected and from where, and provides points of contact.

People can read more about dementia and caring for someone. It includes a ‘ring back’ phone service.

Jeremy Hughes, chief
executive of Alzheimer’s Society said: ‘ One in three people over the age of 65 will develop dementia. Everyone has a role to play, we can all understand a bit more about what it is like to live with dementia.”

Homes include Firs, Glasshouse Hill,
Codnor, Smalley Hall and King William, Lowes Hill, Ripley.
