Heage Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team has welcomed a new Police Community Support Officer to the area.
PCSO Scott Hunt has already been busy getting to know the community on patrol, at police surgeries and at meetings. Before joining the police, Scott, was a customer service supervisor at the Co-op in Heanor and Ilkeston.
PCSO Hunt is also a children’s football coach, having recently taken a F.A course and works with Heanor juniors, under 10s team.
He said: “I’ve always enjoyed working with people and I look forward to becoming part of the community and being able to help residents with any concerns or issues they may have.”
“I hope that people will feel that they will come up and speak to me when they see me out and about, even if it’s just to say hello.”
Scott has taken over the reins from former PCSO Sarah Spencer, who has moved on to become a police officer.
He joined Derbyshire police as part of the latest recruitment drive which has seen 16 new PCSOs welcomed across the county.
