MP: Don’t leave us out of broadband

AMBER Valley’s MP has put a case forward for the borough to be included in a £530m broadband roll-out.

Tory Nigel Mills met with Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt to explain why market towns such as Ripley , Heanor and Alfreton should not be left out of a Government bid to bring super-fast internet speeds to 90 per cent of the country by 2015.

As the upgrade will be allocated in terms of need, Mr Mills said meeting with the secretary of state was a chance to state why Amber Valley should be included in the plans. He said: “Business depends on fast and reliable communications – this is exactly what our community needs.”
