A memorial evening to celebrate the life of brave Ilkeston girl Amelia Rose Sutton who died in April has been announced.
16-month-old Amelia was born with brain damage after laying on her umbilical cord while she was in the womb. She died after contracting pneumonia following an operation earlier this year.
The event, which will be held at the Festival Inn on October 12, will raise cash for the ward at the Royal Derby Hospital where Amelia was treated.
Amelia’s mum, Louise, said: “We really want to make this a big night to raise the money needed for the sunshine deck on the Puffin Ward.
“All of the staff there were a great support and we know how valuable a play area will be for other children who have to spend time there like Amelia did.”
Tickets for the family fun event are available to buy now for a minimum donation of £5.
The family would also like to hear from anyone who can donate a raffle prize, can help with the event or would like to perform on the evening.
