Young people in Matlock are being offered the chance to learn about horticulture for free.

Environmental charity Groundwork Derby and Derbyshire is offering a free horticulture training and work experience course for young people aged 16 to 19 who are not in employment, education or training (NEETs).

Over a fourteen week period, those involved will learn valuable skills in food growing, horticulture and basic construction and will be provided with free work boots, trousers and gloves.

All travel costs will be covered, and each student will receive a daily lunch allowance.

Further information, including how to get involved, is available by contacting Zana Jenks by telephone on either 01773 539427 or 07525225021, or emailing forzana.jenks@groundwork.org.uk.
