Man rescued by mountain teams

Both the Edale and Buxton Mountain Rescue Teams were called to Ravensdale Cottages, Cressbrook on Thursday afternoon.

A 62-year-old male, walking with his wife in Cressbrook Dale had collapsed on a very wet and muddy path.

He was treated on site for a medical emergency by ambulance service paramedics.

A spokesman said: “Following treatment he was placed into a casualty bag and loaded onto our Titan stretcher.

“He was then carried nearly half a kilometre by mountain rescue personnel to Ravensdale Cottages, where he was transferred into the waiting ambulance for onward transport to hospital.”
