A SIX-YEAR-OLD boy fascinated with the Olympics has won a three day all inclusive trip to the event’s open weekend with backstage access and passes to meet the athletes.
Luke Campbell won an online competition hosted by MacDonalds.
“He has been mad about the Olympics since the turn of this year really,” said his dad Peter.
“He has been collecting all the memorabilia, has got the posters and he had the mascot cuddly toy for his birthday. He has even got badges that he wears to school!
“I think there was a lot of dancing around the room when he won!”
Peter said his son told everyone at school he had entered the competition and was confidently telling his class mates he would win.
“He had been saying to everyone he was going to win so the teacher was amazed when he went in to school and said he actually had won!”
Luke, who goes to Larkfields Infants School in Nuthall and plays football for Moorgreen, will stay at the Lancaster Hotel in Hyde Park with his mum Claire.
Peter, of Watnall, said: “He does like his sport, but I don’t know why he is so fascinated with the Olympics. They have done a lot about it at school.”
