Lorry driver hurt in Denby collision

A lorry driver had to be taken to hospital after colliding with a a vehicle and a caravan at Church Street in Denby.

Police were called to the scene between Denby Cricket Club ground and the Black Bull’s Head pub, at 11.50am on Thursday, August 15.

The driver of the juggernaut, carrying kegs of Carlsberg lager, suffered mild lacerations to the face.

A police spokesperson said the drivers’ side wing mirror of the vehicle went through a side window into the cab of the lorry and hit the driver.

He was taken to Royal Derby Hospital for a check up but his condition was not deemed serious.

It is not yet known how the collision occurred.
