The International Space Station (ISS) will glide across Derbyshire's night skies during October. Here's when you can see it this week...

Monday, October 19: approaches from the west-northwest at 7.33pm

Tuesday, October 20: approaches from the west at 6.41pm

Wednesday, October 21: approaches from the west at 7.25pm

Thursday, October 22: approaches from the west at 6.33pm

Saturday, October 24: approaches from the west at 6.24pm

The ISS is the largest space station ever built and it can be spotted with the naked eye at certain times as it orbits Earth at 17,500mph at an altitude of roughly 200 miles.

Spotting the station is very easy and you don’t need any special equipment – you just need your eyes!
