Youth schemes are tackling crime
Anti-social behaviour incidents fell by ten per cent in Amber Valley in 2012, according to new figures.
Cabinet member for safe and secure places to live at the borough council, Cllr Chris Short, said the ‘encouraging figures’ are down to its Community Safety Partnership (CSP)scheme.
The Amber Valley CSP sees Derbyshire Police, the borough and county councils and the probation service, working together to run diversionary activities and initiatives for young people in the borough.
Cllr Short said: “A combination of partnership working, robust policing, increased police presence and activities for young people through the Youth Service has helped to achieve this.”
