Youngsters from Jacksdale Primary and Nursery School have been learning all about a time when ‘knights were bold’ when they took part in a medieval day.

Pupils from the Main Road school had fun when they took part in a series of workshops, including learning about apothecary.

The day was part of a project which saw the children learning about different cultures and periods in history.

Students from the school have also taken part in an African Dance workshop. Year four and five teacher Davina Kerr said of the dance project: “The children need an understanding of the wider world so it was something that would help them learn about different ethnicities and backgrounds.

“It’s the first time we’ve done anything quite like.”
