Winning photos of top trees on show

Photographs of Erewash’s favourite trees are on display at Victoria Park Leisure Centre and Long Eaton Town Hall.

The trees were all nominated as part of a Jubilee photo competition organised by Erewash Borough Council which gave residents the chance to nominate and take a photo of their favourite tree in the area.

The contest was launched in honour of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the three winning photographs were chosen by judges Jon Stokes, of the Tree Council, and Councillor Mike Wallis, lead member for culture and leisure.

Pat Ancliff came first, Janice Jowett came second and Paul Harvey was given third place.

The photos are on display until tomorrow.
