Village folk called to help set up plan

Villagers are being invited to attend a public meeting to see whether Swanwick should pursue calls for a Neighbourhood Plan.

Under the Localism Act 2011, communities are entitled to produce their own plans to help inform where housing should be built in the future. Now Swanwick’s Parish Council is calling on residents to attend Swanwick Hall School’s dining hall on Thursday, June 21, at 6:30pm.

The council says the purpose of the meeting is “to get ideas, gauge public opinion and move forward in a positive way to formulating a Neighbourhood Plan.”

The village joins Ripley in beginning to set its own planning document.
