Cyclists are urged to get into the spirit of the Tour de France and sign up for the JE James and DT Flagg Cycle Challenge for Ashgate Hospice.

The Flagg event offers a 55miler, a 25miler and a 10miler to raise thousands of pounds for the Chesterfield-based hospice, on Ashgate Road, at Old Brampton.

As the three-week Tour visited Yorkshire and Derbyshire this weekend the Flagg Challenge will be held on the morning of the last day of the world famous race allowing riders to get home and watch the outcome.

The Flagg starts at Ashgate Hospice from 9am, on Sunday, July 27, and returns after completing Peak routes. Entry costs £20 and people can register via www.ashgatehospicevents.co.uk/bike/bike.htm or get details via events@ashgatehospice.nhs.uk, or Derbyshire Times’ Jon Cooper at jon.cooper@derbyshiretimes.co.uk and on 01246 504524.
