Top Scouting honour for Georgie

Teenager Georgie Crouch has landed the top Scouting honour - the Chief Scout’s Gold Award.

She was among more than 60 youngsters from across Derbyshire who attended a ceremony at County Hall, Matlock, on Sunday, to receive their certificates.

Georgie, of Fairfield Road, Horsley Woodhouse, has just left the 1st Horsley and Kilburn Scouts and is due to join the Explorers. She completed many activities to achieve the award, including gaining a series of ‘challenge badges’ for things like work in the community. She is pictured with Sir Richard Fitzherbert, president of Derbyshire Scouts, who presented the awards.
