The inquest into the death of a Chesterfield teenager who was discovered hanging in a custody cell has entered its fifth week.

Bolton coroner’s court heard how Jake Hardy, 17, of Stonegravels, was taken to hospital following the discovery at HM Young Offenders Institute Hindley, on January 20, 2012, but he died four days later.

The former Chesterfield College student - who had been serving a sentence for assault - had complained of bullying by detainees, according to assistant deputy coroner Alison Hewitt.
