a TEA dance was organised for patients at Heanor Memorial Hospital to mark Dignity Action Day.
Dance teacher Dawn Jalbert was asked by hospital staff after her own parents – Joan and Lewis Wilson – were patients there.
Dawn said: “I chose the music for the age group of the people there. We went back to the 1940s and songs from World war II. A lady of 97 was in her bed at the far end and she said she enjoyed the Lambeth Walk. A few pupils came from my dance class and danced. Both my parents died in that hospital and they were professional dance teachers who judged on the original Strictly Come Dancing.”
Dignity Action Day was marked on February 1.
