Tackling mess in Waingroves woodland

A village trust is making a stand against dog mess - by putting up 14 signs around a popular woodland.

Waingroves Community Woodland Trust says Strelley Wood, which it owns, attracts more people and dogs it is ensuring the place stays clean as summer approaches.

Trust chairman John Stamp said: “Fourteen A4 size noticeboards have been made by trust volunteers using recycled timber from the woodland. These are being used to carry out week long blitzes in a number of areas both in and leading to the woodland.”

The Trust have already purchased and installed additional dog waste bins which now total seven in and around the area.

John said, “We know most dog owners act responsibly but we need to remind all dog owners of the need to clean up their dogs’ mess.”
