Toddlers at Twistin’ Tots music sessions in Ripley helped raised £175 for children with speech and communication difficulties through a sponsored sing-along.
The under fives took part in the Chatterbox Challenge, ran by charity I Can, which offers advice to parents of children with speech difficulties.
The Twistin’ Tots children took part in a sponsored challenge using handbells and ‘action songs’ to raise the total.
Group leader Jacqui Davis, said: “The money we have raised will help I Can to train a specialist teacher who can go into schools and help children who are experiencing communication difficulties.”
I Can’s Chatterbox Challenge is an annual sponsored sing-along for children aged 0-5 across the UK.
This year’s theme was to encourage youngsters to develop their communication and language skills – in particular listening and attention, understanding and speaking.
Twistin’ Tots classes aim to promote learning, communication and movement in young children and meets at Ripley Methodist Church, Wood Street. For more information call Jacqui on 07977 578359.
