Ripley held a Spring Festival on Sunday in the Market Place where the well was blessed by envoy Kevin Wibberley of the Salvation Army.

The well was dressed and designed by ReThink of Slack Lane, Ripley, and the crowds enjoyed Amber Sound’s live broadcast, Pinxton Puppets, Heage Windmillers, and the Ripley Branch of the Royal British Legion Riders.

Town clerk Linda McCormick said: “Many charities and local groups took stalls to boost their fund raising and promote their groups. Thanks to all concerned for a very successful day.”
